Raw Food Juice Cleanse

raw food and juice cleanseEarlier this year my boyfriend saw a Groupon for a 4 day juice cleanse for $75 per person. Since I’m no stranger to cleanses and haven’t done one in a while, I was totally game for doing this. Apparently the Groupon was pretty popular since we weren’t able to start the cleanse until now. The cleanse is from a company called Extract Juice Bar based out of Newport Beach, CA. This morning we went to pick up our supply for today and tomorrow. On Thursday we will pick up our supply for that day and Friday. The photo above is everything that I got for 2 days (minus drink 1 since I already drank it). What I like about this cleanse is that it allows you to eat! It is not intended to starve you and you are allowed to eat as much RAW food as you want while cleansing. I think the most challenging thing for me is that I can’t have coffee! This is my boyfriends first cleanse so I’m hoping he can make it thru without cheating.

White Night

white dresswhite dresswhite dresswhite dress with cutoutswhite dress with cutoutsclutch and gold jewelryA fitted white dress is one of those things that can be really scary for many of us. The type of fabric and whether or not the dress has a lining are key factors here. This one is made out of thicker ribbed fabric at the top and a lacey bottom that has a lining so it worked for me. I usually like to wear loose tops or flowy clothing but I try to embrace my curves and show em off every once in a while…usually on a “skinny day”…you know what I’m talking about.
I like this dress because it’s different and I like the addition of the cutout lace sleeves. It’s great for a Summertime date night or a fancy girls night out. I don’t like looking too prim and proper so I paired it with black heels and a black spiked clutch and piled on the gold jewelry for that rock and roll touch.

Everything (except for the heels) is from Timeless Boutique

Rompin Around

I mean, I also think of happiness, BBQ’s and the beach so don’t get me wrong. That’s why I love this little tie-dye romper. It’s easy to throw on and it fits loose on your body so that you can catch a breeze on those super hot days! I was so excited to wear this romper with my new, knee-high gladiator sandals by Stuart Weitzman…I’m obsessed with them and they will be put to good use this Summer!

Bringing Sexy Back

Dress with back cutoutsDress with back cutoutsDress with back cutoutsGold Jewelryleopard spiked bag and gold jewelryThis dress is the perfect amount of sexy with a high-neck, ankle length and the lower back cut-outs. It’s a great piece for layering too. You can wear it with a cardigan or a plaid shirt tied around your waist and you can dress it up with some jewelry and sexy shoes. The fabric is very thin so I had to go seek out the perfect underwear. (I think wearing the right kind of underwear with something like this is REALLY important. If your thong pinches your sides or has lace or a bow on it, then it will show and it will look horrible and people will not even notice the dress). Luckily, I found a great line of seamless undergarments at Nordstrom called Commando. They really work great! Every girl needs a pair to go with all of those thin fabric dresses and skirts. I accessorized by layering a few thin gold necklaces and a stack of cute bracelets. I chose a spiked leopard clutch for a little pop.

Rock The Bells

denim bell bottomsdenim bell bottomsCrochet Beanieclear studded clutchI’ve been obsessing over bell-bottoms lately!  When I was in Free People the other day I was so excited that they had a few different styles for me to try on. The first pair I tried on had an elastic waist and more of an exaggerated flare bottom. The second pair were the ones in the photo…the SUPER bell. I was slightly hesitant to get them because of how obnoxious the bell was…but then I realized that I have an obnoxious side…and that side won the battle.

I kept the look basic and bohemian and wore some high heeled wedges and gold jewelry. I threw off the look with a modern, clear clutch with gold studs.

Tea Party Anyone?

I’m not sure what’s gotten into me lately but I’ve recently been gravitating towards feminine and floral things…I guess I’m having a girlie moment. This dress would be perfect for a weekend brunch, baby shower, outdoor wedding or whatever! The fit is great and would be flattering on almost anyone. I thought this red, Celine-inspired handbag would compliment the dress perfectly!

The theme at this years Met Gala was “Punk: Chaos to Couture”. My absolute favorite rendition of this trend would have to be Sarah Jessica Parker with her insane mohawk headdress by Philip Treacy…it was ridiculously amazing and looked perfect with her dress and thigh high boots. I thought Sienna Miller looked elegantly punk with the addition of the spiked leather jacket and I really loved her hair with the spiked headband. I was super into Miley Cyrus’ hair and her fishnet get-up by Marc Jacobs…totally punk! I also thought Gisele did a classy yet sexy version of punk and deserved a little nod. I think more people should have embraced the punk theme though…I mean c’mon Kate Upton…booooorinnnggggg!
